If you accidentally paid the wrong person, don’t worry — this article can help.
Can I cancel a payment I sent to the wrong person?
Payments on Venmo generally can’t be canceled once they’ve reached the recipient’s Venmo account, even if you accidentally paid the wrong person. But you have a few options.
First, send the person you paid a charge request for the same amount of the payment so they can pay you back. You should include a note asking them to pay you back for the money you sent by mistake, and once they accept the request the payment will be added to your Venmo account. We recommend starting here, since this may help you get your money back faster than by contacting Venmo Support.
