If you accidentally paid the wrong person, don’t worry — this article can help.
Can I cancel a payment I sent to the wrong person?
Payments on Venmo generally can’t be canceled once they’ve reached the recipient’s Venmo account, even if you accidentally paid the wrong person.
If you sent a payment to someone you know by accident, you can send that person a charge request for the same amount so that they can pay you back. Include a note explaining the mistake, and once they accept the request, the money will be added to your Venmo account. For added peace of mind, you can also reach out to that friend directly and explain the situation.
