Your Venmo account is already set up to start using QR codes in stores. Go to the Me tab in your Venmo app Tap the QR code next to your profile picture. You may need to follow the on-screen prompts to allow your camera to scan codes.
If you don’t see a Show to Pay QR code, please make sure you are using the most up-to-date version of the Venmo app.

How do I use Venmo QR codes in stores?
There are two ways to use Venmo QR codes to make purchases.
- You are presented with a QR code, simply scan that code to proceed with the transaction. You’ll need to confirm the purchase in your app to complete the transaction.
- The merchant needs to scan your in-store QR code, tap Show to Pay to present your QR code. If you need to change your payment method, you’ll need to do so before the merchant scans your code.
Both the Venmo Me and the Show to Pay sections use QR codes, but they are used for different things. The Show to Pay QR code is an easy way to make in-store payments. The Venmo Me QR code can help you find friends and family on Venmo.
If you are a merchant and are interested in accepting Venmo QR codes at your business, please reach out to your Point of Sale (POS) provider. Venmo does not provide support for individual merchants’ POS systems.
