What payment method will be used to pay for my in-store QR code purchases?
If you have access to a Venmo balance and your balance can cover the full amount of the purchase, Venmo will always choose your balance to fund an in-store QR code purchase. You can change this to any cards or bank accounts on file with your Venmo account.
If you don’t have access to a balance, or if your balance cannot cover the full amount of the purchase, Venmo will choose from any of the payment methods on file. You can always change the pre-selected payment method chosen by tapping on the one shown at the bottom of the screen.
There is no way to change the payment method once you complete the transaction. We recommend checking the payment method every time you make a purchase.
