How do I tag my payment as a purchase?
You may be able to tag your payment as a purchase when making a payment to another Venmo user’s personal profile. When you do, your payment will be covered by Purchase Protection, if eligible. You can contact us afterward if something goes wrong, like if you receive something that’s different from what you bought, an item was damaged in shipping, parts are missing, or your purchase never arrives. We’ll investigate and refund any eligible purchases that did not go as planned.
When available, you’ll see the option to tag a payment and a shield icon. When you mark the payment, the seller will pay an associated fee and you’ll both have some peace of mind if something goes wrong.
Whenever you see this option, you can click the link for program terms and conditions.
Can I tag a request as a purchase?
You can tag a request as a purchase in the Venmo app when you fulfill it. Venmo wants to provide peace of mind whether you're sending funds or receiving a request for payment.
