If you've never signed up for Venmo and received an email from us, it's possible that a Venmo account was registered with your email address. You can let us know if this wasn't you by following the steps below.
How can I remove my email address from this stranger's account?
You should have received an email from Venmo requesting to “Verify your email”. If you can locate this message, open it and click “Wasn’t You? Report this email here” at the bottom of the message. This will send a report to our Account Specialists so they can investigate. If you still need help, please contact us using the email address in question.
Why was someone able to create a Venmo account with my email address?
Someone may have added your email address to their account when they signed up, usually by mistake.
It's also possible that your email address was recycled by a domain provider like Gmail, Hotmail, etc. If you have an email account and stop using it for a while, the domain provider can reissue the email address to the public and allow it to be used again by someone else.
