How do crypto price alerts work?
When you turn on crypto price alerts, we’ll send you push notifications when the price of your selected crypto goes up or down by your chosen percentage in a day. We don't want to spam you though, so we'll only sent you a maximum of two notifications in a 24-hour period.
Alerts are designed to keep you informed about movements in the crypto market, but should not be your sole way of monitoring and making decisions involving crypto. Crypto price alerts may be delayed or disrupted (including due to market conditions and data outages), and you should verify any information you receive from a price alert before you act on it. Price alerts are provided for informational purposes only, and do not constitute a recommendation by Venmo to buy, sell or hold any asset.
How do I set up price alerts?
You can sign up for and manage your price alerts in the Venmo app:
- Go to the Crypto tab
- Tap the relevant cryptocurrency
- Use the Price Alerts toggle to turn on price alerts
You will specify your selected percentage for price changes when you turn the feature on. This selection can be modified at any point.
If you’ve already verified your identity with Venmo and set up your Venmo account for buying/selling/holding crypto, you can also sign-up for price alerts when you are buying crypto.
If you want to receive push notifications for price alerts, make sure Venmo push notifications are enabled on your device.
