Why should I add my friends on Venmo?
Adding your friends on Venmo makes it easier for you to interact with their profiles. People in your Friends list can be instantly added to Groups you make and will show at the top of your results when you search on Venmo.
After adding your favorite people as Friends, you’ll see their shared activity in the Venmo feed. Payments you choose to share with friends will show in their feeds too.
Adding, removing, or viewing Venmo Friends
To view your Venmo Friends list in the app, go to the Me tab and tap the "friends" tile under your profile picture.
To add or remove someone from your Venmo Friends list, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the user's Venmo profile
- To add the user as a friend, tap "Add Friend"
- To remove a user from your Venmo Friends list, tap Friends, then Unfriend
You can also add friends from your phone contacts.
Is my Venmo Friends list private?
Depending on your Venmo privacy settings, your friends list may be visible to other Venmo users, to only your Venmo friends, or private.
You can check or make changes to your Friends List privacy settings with these steps:
- In the Venmo app, go to the Me tab
- Tap the Settings gear
- Tap Privacy
- Tap Friends List (near the bottom of the page)
- Select your preferred privacy setting for your friends list
You can also choose whether you want your profile to be visible in other users' friends lists.
To change this setting, tap the toggle at the bottom of the friends list privacy page.
