The custom emojis that you see in your feed come from Venmo. A group of us brainstormed and decided on which events we want to celebrate with everyone. Our ideas come from everywhere including our team and Venmo users, however, occasionally you might see us partner with a brand or business to bring you a unique set of emojis.
How come I only see them in Venmo?
The custom emojis are designed for Venmo only, so you will only see them on Venmo. They are not part of the unicode consortium.
Can I add my own emojis to Venmo? How?
At this time you cannot add your own custom emojis on Venmo, but if you have a great idea for custom emojis you’d like to see on Venmo, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Is there a list of all the new emojis?
We do not publicize our new custom emojis anywhere at this time - sorry about that. The only way to find out about them is by using the Venmo app.
Will Venmo be adding more emojis?
We will be adding new, fun and spontaneous custom emojis throughout the year.
Can I turn these off?
You cannot turn off custom emojis specifically but you do have the option to turn off emoji autocomplete. If you’re on the Venmo app, go to the “Me” tab, tap the Settings gear in the top right, then tap “Emoji.”
Can I use them in iMessage?
Yes! Custom emojis will appear in the iMessage and regular Venmo apps for you to use.
