What is Venmo?
Venmo provides an easy way for friends and family to pay each other and bypass the need for cash or checks on the go. Beyond payments to friends and family, Venmo can be used to purchase items directly from participating approved apps and online stores, and at in-store merchants with certain Point of Sale (POS) systems.

I’m interested in accepting Venmo. How do I get this set up?
Please see the Venmo website for more information about accepting online or in-app payments and how to get started: https://venmo.com/business/accept-venmo/
You have a few options if you want to accept Venmo for payments to your business:
- Accept Venmo through PayPal’s online checkout process, where users can select Venmo as a payment option. Please keep in mind that this option will not add a separate Venmo payment button on your website. (This option is automatically available to PayPal merchants. You can find more information here.)
- Create a charity profile for a charitable organization if you have confirmed your charity status on PayPal. With a PayPal charity account, you can connect to Venmo from the PayPal App Center. Learn more about signing up for a Venmo charity profile.
-
Accept Venmo QR code payments from your customers with in-store QR codes. If you’re interested in this option, please reach out to your Point of Sale (POS) provider.
(Venmo does not provide support for individual merchants’ POS systems.)
Venmo should not otherwise be used to complete purchases unless explicitly authorized by Venmo.
