Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a federal bank holiday. Because banks are closed on bank holidays, standard bank transfers initiated on Thursday, January 14 (after 7pm ET) through Monday, January 18 could take about one extra business day to arrive. For more information, keep reading.
When you initiate a standard bank transfer (typically completed within 1-3 business days, at no fee) using your linked bank account, we’ll show you the estimated arrival date. Transfers are reviewed, which may result in delays or funds being frozen or removed from your Venmo account. Learn more here.

When will my bank transfer arrive?
Bank transfers typically arrive within 1-3 business days. Read on for a more detailed answer:
- If you requested the bank transfer on a weekday (Mon-Fri) before 7pm ET, the bank transfer could reach your bank account as soon as the next business day. (It could take up to 3 business days to arrive)
- For example: If you request it on Monday before 7pm ET, it could arrive in your bank account as soon as Tuesday. It shouldn’t arrive later than Thursday

Why are the timelines dependent on business days?
Bank transfer timelines are dependent on the Automated Clearing House (ACH), Venmo’s banking partner, and your bank. If you’ve already initiated a standard bank transfer, there’s no way for us to expedite that process.
Based on the info above, I should have already received my bank transfer, but I don’t see it. Where is it?
Sometimes the transfer may post on your bank statement on a different date than the one estimated in the app, so be sure to check the surrounding dates as well.
If you still don’t see your transfer in your bank account after three full business days (based on the timelines above), please check out this article for more information on what may be happening and how to resolve it. And make sure to check out our Standard Bank Transfers FAQ.
