Can I use Venmo outside of the United States?
Not yet! While we hope to make Venmo available internationally, Venmo is only accessible within the United States at this time.
What mobile operating systems is the Venmo app compatible with?
Venmo is only able to support Apple iOS 10.0 or Android Lollipop (API 21) or higher devices at this time.
Where can I sign up?
To be able to use Venmo, you must be in the United States, and have mobile device capable of accepting SMS messaging. You can create a Venmo account right here on the web at venmo.com, or you can download our app from the App Store or Play Store depending on your device, and create your profile.
Why does it say my phone number or email is already on file?
It’s possible that you may have already created a Venmo profile and simply need to sign in. If that is the case, you can use your email, phone number or username and password to log into your account. Still not able to log in? Check out this article for more details and next steps.
What happens when I sync my contacts or Facebook with Venmo?
When you download our app and sign up, you may be asked to grant Venmo permission to access your contacts. Venmo will access the names, phone numbers and email addresses of your contacts to improve your search results, let you invite contacts and as otherwise permitted in our Privacy Policy. You can choose to deny the request if you'd like.
If you select “Connect Facebook” Venmo will access your email address, friend list, profile picture, and public profile.
