How do I edit my Venmo account settings?

Follow these steps to make changes to your settings In the Venmo app: 

  1. Go to the Me tab by tapping your picture or initials 
  2. Tap the Settings gear 
  3. Choose which settings you’d like to update 
  4. Save your changes

Follow these steps to make changes to your settings on the Venmo website: 

  1. Sign in to your Venmo account 
  2. Click Settings in the sidebar to expand the settings menu 
  3. Click the option that corresponds to the settings you want to update  
  4. Save your changes

How do I opt into/out of location services for Venmo?

Location preferences are unique to your device and can be updated by navigating to your device’s Settings. For more information, we recommend checking the instructions for your particular device and operating system. 

Sharing your location with Venmo enables us to provide a better overall experience when you use the app. If you choose not to share this information, however, you’ll still be able to use Venmo to send and request money.

What happens when I opt to share my location with Venmo?

Venmo will only collect location information when you’re using the Venmo app, and we use this information to help create a great app experience. Sharing location information helps us provide:

  • Increased security
  • Improved search results
  • Location-specific offers, including local deals, recommended businesses in your area, and more
