How payments work on Venmo
When you send (or receive) a payment on Venmo, the payment should reach the recipient's Venmo account right away.
If you're paying with a bank account, it may take a few days for the activity to be reflected on your bank statement, but you can check your personal transactions feed and review your Venmo activity at any time. All of your recent Venmo activity will show up in your personal transactions feed on the Me tab in the app.
If you're concerned that a payment didn't go through or think it may have gone to the wrong place, you can check your transactions feed and tap on any payment to get more info about its status or destination.
Please note that payments can't be canceled once they're sent.
Didn't receive a payment you were expecting? Contact the sender first to confirm that they used your correct information.
Changing your payment method
There isn't a way to change your payment method for a payment after you've sent it. Before you send a payment, however, you can check which payment method will be used and change it if needed.
To change your payment method while making a payment, tap on the bank or card shown at the bottom of the payment screen and select the option you want to use. If you have access to a Venmo balance, you may need to use or move money from your balance first, in order to select a bank or card.

Can I set up automatic recurring payments or charge requests?
No, Venmo doesn't offer the option to set up recurring payments or charge requests to another Venmo account.
Can I use Venmo to pay myself or move money between two of my own payment methods?
No. Venmo is intended only for payments between separate individuals rather than moving money between your own payment methods. Additionally, you’re only allowed to maintain one personal Venmo account at a time.
