If you are made aware of a transaction using your Venmo Mastercard Debit Card that you did not authorize, first disable your card in the Venmo app. If you’re on the old version of the Venmo app (with the ☰ icon in the top right), tap ☰, then “Settings,” then “Venmo Debit Card.” If you’re on the new version of the Venmo app (without the ☰ icon), go to the “Cards” tab and check under the Venmo Debit Card section. If you do not have access to your app, you can call 855-204-4090 (24 hours a day 365 days a year) and deactivate your card that way.
Please note, you can deactivate your card at any time using the phone number listed above. If a live agent is available (9AM - 5PM CST Mon - Fri) then you may notify an agent over the phone of any unauthorized charges and permanently close your card. Outside of that window, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to notify us of the unauthorized charges and permanently close your card.
For additional information about resolution procedures for unauthorized transactions, please see the Venmo User Agreement and the Venmo Mastercard® Debit Cardholder Agreement. You can also view the Mastercard Guide to Benefits for additional details from Mastercard.
