How do Venmo Groups work?
Venmo Groups enable you to manage, track, and split group expenses (like a vacation with friends or bills shared with roommates) on Venmo.
Members in a group can add expenses, which Venmo will automatically split into equal amounts due from other members. The split amounts for an expense can also be edited.
How do I create a group?
You can set up a new group in the Venmo app by following these steps:
- Go to the Me tab
- Tap Create a Group (below your profile picture), then Get started
- If you're already part of another group, tap the Groups tile, then Create a group on the next page
- Enter a group name and pick a group emoji
- Add members to the group
You can add a maximum of 30 people to your group. If you add someone who isn’t your Venmo friend, they’ll need to accept the invitation before they’re added. Invitees who you're already friends with on Venmo will be added to your group right away.
When you create a Venmo group, you’ll be made the owner of that group by default. You can appoint a new owner in your group Settings if you’d like.
