Want to learn more about Visa+? Start by learning more about Visa+ Paynames
What is a Visa+ Payname?
A Visa+ Payname is a unique handle, like a username, that you can use to send and receive money to and from people on PayPal.
Your Payname will start with a “+.” On Venmo, your Payname will include a “.Venmo” ending, like “+JohnSmith.Venmo”.
Your Payname can’t be changed after it is created.
Do I use the same Payname for Venmo and other platforms?
Your Payname is unique to the platform, so if you have a PayPal account, you can have a Venmo Payname and a separate PayPal Payname.
What are the requirements for a Payname?
There are a few requirements when creating a Visa+ Payname:
- It must start with a letter
- It must be between 5 and 30 characters
- It can contain only:
- Letters
- Numbers
- Hyphens (-)
- Underscores(_)
If your preferred Payname has already been taken by another user, you’ll need to pick a different Payname.
You may not create a Payname for Venmo that is affiliated with another person or that is otherwise deceptive or misleading.
