Receiving Money with Visa+

Important update: Starting February 19, 2026, Visa+ will no longer be available for PayPal and Venmo transactions. Instead, you'll soon be able to send money directly between PayPal and Venmo accounts using a phone number—no third-party service needed. This feature is rolling out in the U.S. first, with more markets to follow. Customers will begin hearing about this coming change starting today.

Visa+ will no longer be available to new sign-ups as of February 19, 2026.

How Visa+ works

Visa+ enables you to receive payments to your Venmo account through supported third-party apps like Payactiv, DailyPay, eTip, or MyBambu.

Payments sent with Visa+ can take up to 30 minutes to reach your account.

Issues receiving a Visa+ payment

You can’t receive Visa+ payments if your Payname is deactivated. This can happen automatically if your Venmo account becomes restricted.

You can check the status of your Payname and deactivate it in the Venmo app with these steps:

  1. Go to the Me tab
  2. Tap the Settings gear
  3. Tap Send Money to PayPal
  4. Tap the Deactivate your payname toggle

Please note, after February 19, 2026, you will not be able to reactivate your Visa+ Payname once it is deactivated.

If your Visa+ Payname is active on Venmo and you're still having trouble receiving money, please contact the company you're transacting with.
