What is a Venmo Teen Account?

If you're under 18 and always wanted to use Venmo, today's your lucky day! Venmo now offers a Teen Account for anyone 13-17 years old, created by a parent or guardian.

What's so special about Venmo Teen Accounts? You'll get:

  • 💳 A Venmo Teen Mastercard(R) debit card with your name on it
  • 📱 Option to use the Venmo app to send and receive money and track the Teen Account balance
  • 💰 Ability to set up Direct Deposit to get your paycheck into the Teen Account balance

 

What can I do with my Venmo Teen Account?

There are a few cool things you can do with a Venmo Teen Account:

  • 🤑 Use the teen debit card to make purchases or get cash at an ATM
  • 💸 Send money to your friends and family in the Venmo app
  • ✅ View transactions and your Teen Account balance in the Venmo app
  • 💰Get money from your paychecks add to your Teen Account balance using Direct Deposit

 

Are there any spending or withdrawal limits for my Venmo Teen Account?

Venmo Teen Account has different limits depending on whether your parent or guardian provided you with app access.

Activity Limits 
Teen Debit Card purchases
  • $3,000 per day
  • $7,000 per week
ATM withdrawals
  • $400 per day
Person-to-Person payments
  • $2,000 per week
In-store QR code payments
  • $2,000 per week

Important notes about Teen Account Limits:

  • The Person-to-person payment limit includes any payments sent to your parent or guardian's account.
  • All limits for Venmo Teen Accounst are rolling limits. This means that a transaction counts against a limit for exactly one week from the time of the authorization.
    • For example, if you make a purchase on a Monday at 11:00 AM, that purchase will no longer count against the limit at 11:01 AM the following Monday.
