What are Hallmark + Venmo Cards?
Hallmark + Venmo cards pair the fun and excitement of opening a physical card with the ease of digital payments. You can pick up the card on hallmark.com or at Hallmark customer locations around the US and pre-load a payment to the recipient. When the recipient opens the card, they can scan a code to add the money to their Venmo account.

I received a Hallmark + Venmo card, but lost it before I could claim the payment
The good news is that the payment associated with this card can’t be claimed by another person – the sender needs to enter your information when they set up the card.
If you no longer have access to the card and can’t claim the payment, please ask the sender to cancel the payment in their app. You can ask them to contact us if they need help doing this.
Once the payment is cancelled, the sender can create a new payment to you directly without the card.
What is Venmo?
Venmo allows you to pay and request money from your friends. At its core, Venmo provides a social way to pay your friends when you owe them money and don't want to deal with cash. For example:
- Splitting a lunch bill
- Paying your friend half of a cab fare
- Sending your roommate your half of the rent
You can find out more information here.
Venmo can also be used to make purchases with authorized merchants. For example:
- Using the Venmo Mastercard Debit Card anywhere in the U.S. where Mastercard is accepted
- Using Venmo as a payment method in authorized partner apps or mobile websites
- Using in-store QR codes to complete purchases with Venmo
- Buying something from a Venmo Business Profile
- Tagging a Venmo payment as a purchase in the Venmo app
Venmo should not otherwise be used to make or accept payments for goods and services with people you don’t know (for example, concert tickets, electronic equipment, sneakers, a watch, or other merchandise, deposits for apartments, or dog walking).
