How to send money with Visa+
To send money from Venmo to another platform (like PayPal), you'll first need to confirm the recipient's Payname.
Please double-check that you have the correct Payname for your recipient, as Visa+ payments can't be canceled or reversed. Venmo is not responsible for the non-delivery of funds based on incorrect account information provided. Payments sent to the wrong Payname or account could be lost.
After confirming the Payname info for your recipient, follow these steps in the Venmo app to initiate a payment with Visa+:
- Go to the Me tab
- Tap the Settings gear
- Tap Send Money to PayPal
- Tap Send
- Enter the recipient’s Payname
- Enter the dollar amount you want to send
- Confirm the payment details and then hit Next
- Confirm the last four digits of the recipient’s phone number to complete the payment
Payments sent with Visa+ can take up to 30 minutes to reach the recipient's account.
If you believe that your payment was sent to the wrong person, please review your Venmo transaction details to confirm where the money went. There is no way to stop or reverse a Visa+ payment, so we recommend contacting the recipient if you encounter an issue.
Visa+ payment limits
There’s a $2500 per transaction limit for Visa+ payments. These transactions can be declined for reasons other than the limit.
