Why did Venmo send me a transaction history email?
Venmo sends automated transaction history emails to remind users to check their transaction histories on a regular basis.
If you have been active on Venmo (i.e. made or received a payment, made a purchase, transferred to bank, or received credits/refunds) in the past month, you will receive a notice at the beginning of the following month. Otherwise, you will receive this notice once per quarter at minimum, even if you do not use your Venmo account.
Can I unsubscribe from automated transaction history emails?
Federal financial regulations require Venmo to send you account transaction history notices on a regular basis, so you cannot unsubscribe.
If you close your Venmo account, we'll send one final transaction history email to the email address on file with your Venmo account.
I received a transaction history email, but I don’t have a Venmo account
It’s possible you have an old Venmo account or that you tried to close your account but didn’t finish. To close an account, go to venmo.com/account/settings/cancel.
If you didn’t sign up for Venmo, it’s possible someone entered your email address by mistake. Contact our Support team so we can fix that.
Unauthorized activity on Venmo statements
If your Venmo transaction history shows activity that you did not authorize, please contact our Support team as soon as possible. We also recommend resetting your Venmo password to secure your account.
