Money you receive from other people or merchants on Venmo will remain in your Venmo account until you transfer or spend it. You can transfer that money from your Venmo account to a connected bank with just a few steps. Read on for details.
Basic requirements for bank transfers
Before you can transfer the money in your Venmo account to a bank, you'll need to add your bank account to Venmo. We strongly recommend verifying your bank account before initiating a transfer, as this will help ensure that your transfers are sent to the right place.
Venmo is not responsible for lost transfers to a bank resulting from incorrectly entered bank credentials.

Initiating a bank transfer
If you've already added a bank to your Venmo account and verified it, you're ready to send money to your bank. Follow these steps in the Venmo app to initiate a transfer:
- Go to the Me tab
- Tap the Add or Transfer button under "Wallet" (some users may see Manage instead)
- Enter or edit the amount you want to transfer from Venmo to your bank
- Select your transfer method ("Instant" or "1-3 biz days") and take note of any fees applied
- Confirm your transfer details by tapping the green "Transfer" button
You can also transfer money to your bank account if you're using a computer. After signing in to your Venmo account, click "Transfer balance" from the sidebar (or go here) and follow the same steps as above.
Please note: Transfers are reviewed, which may result in delays or money being locked or removed from your Venmo account. Learn more transfer reviews on Venmo.
