What are Venmo Groups?
Groups are an easy way to manage, track, and split group expenses, like a group of friends going on a trip together or roommates splitting household expenses.
Members can add group expenses. Then, Venmo will split things up and minimize the number of payments needed to cover what’s due to each person.
How do I create a group?
You can set up a new group in the Venmo app:
- Go to the Me tab
- Tap Create a Group at the top of the page or go into your active groups and tap Create a Group
- If this is your first time setting up a group, you’ll be given some information about how groups work
- Enter a group name and pick a group emoji
- Add members to the group
You can add a maximum of 30 people to your group. Your Venmo friends will be added right away. If you add someone who isn’t your Venmo friend, they’ll need to accept the invitation before they’re added.
When you create a group, you’ll be made the owner of that group by default. You can appoint a new owner if you’d like.
If you don’t see the option to create a Venmo group, please keep your Venmo app up-to-date as we make this feature available to more people.
