How payments work on Venmo
When you send (or receive) a payment on Venmo, the payment should reach the recipient's Venmo account right away. If you're paying with a bank account, it may take a few days for the activity to be reflected on your bank statement, but you can check your personal transactions feed and review your Venmo activity at any time.
All of your recent Venmo activity will show up in your personal transactions feed on the Me tab in the app. Keep in mind:
- If you're concerned that a payment didn't go through or think it may have gone to the wrong place, you can check your transactions feed and tap on any payment to get more info about its status or destination.
- Didn't receive a payment you were expecting? Contact the sender first to confirm that they used your correct information.
- Payments can't be canceled once they're sent. Learn about what to do if there's an issue with your payment.

Changing your payment method
Before you send a payment, you can check which payment method will be used and change it if needed. There isn't a way to change your payment method for a payment after you've sent it.
To change your payment method while making a payment, tap on the bank or card shown at the bottom of the payment screen and select the option you want to use.
If you have access to a Venmo balance, you may need to use or move money from your balance before you have the option to select a bank or card. Learn more about using money in your Venmo account.
