Getting Started with your Venmo Credit Card

I was approved! When can I start using my Venmo Credit Card?

Your Venmo Credit Card account is also automatically added to your Venmo payment methods and can be used to pay for things like you already do today, such as person-to-person payments and purchases with authorized merchants. Similar to other credit cards, the Venmo Credit Card is subject to Venmo’s standard 3% fee when used to make person-to-person payments.

A virtual card number is available to you in the Venmo app as soon as you are approved for the Venmo Credit Card. That number can be used for online purchases and you can also request a new virtual number in the Venmo app (which deactivates your previous virtual card number).

Please note that you will need to confirm the items below in order to copy this card number and shop online:

  • The last 4 digits of your Social Security Number to view the virtual card number,
  • Expiration date
  • CVV

Your Venmo Credit Card account may have a lower credit limit until you receive and activate your physical card. You can view your credit limit in the Venmo Credit Card section of the Venmo app.

Once you get your physical Venmo Credit Card, you can find your account number on the back of the card. To activate your Venmo Credit Card follow the step below scan the QR code on the front of the card using your phone’s camera or the QR code scanner in the Venmo app.

Alternatively, you can enter your three-digit CVV code within the Venmo app to activate. If you would rather activate by phone, call Synchrony Bank at 855-890-6779.

The Venmo Credit Card is issued by Synchrony Bank pursuant to a license from Visa USA Inc. VISA is a registered trademark of Visa International Service Association and used under license.
