Someone is sending me a Visa+ payment. How soon do I receive the money?
Visa+ payments can take up to 30 minutes to process. If you still don’t see the payment after 30 minutes have passed, contact our Support team.
I’m sending myself a Visa+ payment via a different app. How do I set this up?
You can sign up for Visa+ and receive payments via supported third-party apps:
- Go to the Me tab
- Tap the Settings gear in the top right
- Tap Send & receive money with Visa+
- The app will walk you through verifying your identity (if needed) and setting up a Payname for your Venmo account
- Your Payname is a username that will be used to receive money to your Venmo account. It cannot be changed.
- Tap Agree and create to set up your Visa+ Payname
Once you’re signed up, you can use your Payname on supported apps to receive payments. You’ll also be able to tap Send to make a Visa+ payment to a PayPal account.
I’m sending myself a Visa+ payment via a different app. How long does it take to receive the money?
Visa+ payments can take up to 30 minutes to process. If you still don’t see the payment after 30 minutes have passed, you should contact the platform you used to send the payment.
Someone is trying to send me a Visa+ payment, but it won’t go through
You can’t receive Visa+ payments while your Payname is deactivated. You can reactivate your Visa+ Payname in the Venmo app:
- Go to the Me tab
- Tap the Settings gear in the top right
- Tap Send & receive money with Visa+
- Tap the Deactivate your payname toggle
Once your Payname is active, you can ask the sender to try the payment again. If it still doesn’t work, please ask the sender to contact the relevant Support team for assistance.
