| Important update: Starting February 19, 2026, Visa+ will no longer be available for PayPal and Venmo transactions. Instead, you'll soon be able to send money directly between PayPal and Venmo accounts using a phone number—no third-party service needed. This feature is rolling out in the U.S. first, with more markets to follow. Customers will begin hearing about this coming change starting today. |
Visa+ will no longer be available to new sign-ups as of February 19, 2026.
How do I deactivate my Payname?
You can deactivate your Visa+ Payname in the Venmo app with these steps:
- Go to the Me tab
- Tap the Settings gear in the top right
- Tap Send Money to PayPal
- Tap the toggle to deactivate your payname
If you deactivate your Visa+ account, you will not be able to reactivate it. When your Payname is deactivated, you will no longer be able to receive Visa+ payments. You will, however, be able to receive other Venmo payments.
