What is Venmo Offers?
Venmo Offers is a program for Venmo users that offers cashback on purchases with select merchants. If you have a Venmo Mastercard Debit Card, you’re enrolled in Venmo Offers. Otherwise, you can enroll in Venmo Offers in the Offers section of your Settings menu in the Venmo app.
Offers are automatically applied to your account. You can find current Venmo offers in the Offers section of the Venmo app (accessible via the Cards tab or your Settings menu).
How do I earn cashback?
You can earn cashback by making eligible purchases at select merchants. Current merchant offers are shown in the Offers section of the Venmo app. A pending purchase will show estimated cashback in your feed, but the amount is not disbursed to your Venmo account until the charge is completed by the merchant. Once the transaction is complete, any earned cashback will be applied to your Venmo account.
Can I earn cashback on online purchases?
Many offers include online purchases. Because each offer is different, be sure to view the offer details to see if a specific offer includes cashback on online purchases. You can find offer details in the Offers section of the Venmo app.
When will I receive my cashback?
A pending purchase will show your estimated cashback earned in your feed, but the amount is not disbursed to your Venmo account until the charge is completed by the merchant. Once the transaction is completed, any earned cashback will be automatically applied to your Venmo account.
Note: Transactions typically complete within 1-5 days, but can take up to 30 days depending on the merchant.
Do Venmo Offers expire?
Offers are only available when they are present in the Offers section of your Venmo app. It's best to check your Venmo app to make sure a specific offer is still available before making your purchase. The cashback that you receive from completed, eligible transactions will never expire - these funds are placed in your Venmo account.
Are there any limits to the amount of cashback I can receive?
Certain offers have limits. Each offer is different, so it’s important to check the terms for each offer. For more information on a specific offer, you can check the Offers section of the app and select the offer you want to learn more about.
Who can see my cashback?
The cashback payments you receive will have the same privacy setting as your payments to other Venmo users.
- If your payments are set to “Public”, then your cashback payments will be visible to your friends and contacts via the feed. They may also appear in the Public Feed that constantly updates to show Venmo users' transactions in real-time and in other places on the internet.
- If your payments are set to “Private”, then your cashback payments will not be visible to other Venmo users. You can learn more about adjusting your privacy setting here.
What is Dosh?
Venmo Offers is powered by Dosh. When you make a transaction with your Venmo Debit Card or Venmo account, Dosh checks to see if it is eligible for a cashback reward. If the transaction is eligible for a reward, Dosh will send cashback to your Venmo account after the merchant completes the charge.
What information does Venmo share with Dosh?
Venmo and Dosh respect your privacy and take precautions to ensure the security of your data. Venmo only shares the data necessary to enable Dosh to provide the optimal user experience and facilitate cashback fulfillment.
For more information on Dosh’s privacy policy, view the terms of service here. You can also check out Venmo’s privacy policy here.
Why can’t I add my Venmo Debit Card to Dosh?
Venmo Debit Cardholders are automatically enrolled in Venmo Offers powered by Dosh. Because Venmo Debit Cardholders are already eligible for Venmo Offers, they will not be able to add any Venmo Debit Cards to Dosh’s platform.
Missing cashback? We can help
If you believe you are missing cashback for an offer, we can double-check it for you.
First, make sure that the transaction in question is completed, not pending. Pending transactions will show at the top of your personal transactions feed under the “Me” tab.
If your transaction is still pending, you’ll need to wait until it is completed by the merchant before you can receive any cashback.
If the transaction in question is completed, please contact us for help.
