Venmo wants to help you get your stimulus payment quickly. With Venmo’s Direct Deposit feature, you can send your stimulus payment to your Venmo account instead of waiting for a paper check.
How do I get my stimulus payment sent to my Venmo account?
First, you will need to have Direct Deposit set up on Venmo. At this time, only users who have applied for and been approved for a Venmo Debit Card have the ability to use the Direct Deposit feature. You can apply for the debit card in the Venmo Card section of the Venmo app. Find more information on setting up your Venmo Direct Deposit account here.
Then visit the IRS “Get My Payment” web portal to enter your Direct Deposit account number and routing number. You can view your Direct Deposit account and routing numbers in your Venmo app under Settings. If you did not file a 2018 or 2019 tax return, you can enter your information in the Non-Filers tool.
Note: if your stimulus is already being routed to an account number supplied on your 2018 or 2019 tax return, there is no way to change the destination.
