Venmo wants to help you get your stimulus payment quickly. With Venmo’s Direct Deposit feature, you can send your stimulus payment to your Venmo account instead of waiting for a paper check.
How do I get my stimulus payment sent to my Venmo account?
First, you will need to have Direct Deposit set up on Venmo. You have the ability to add funds to your Venmo account using Direct Deposit if you have completed the required identity verification and if you are otherwise eligible for Direct Deposit. We determine eligibility for Direct Deposit at our sole discretion. If you are eligible for Direct Deposit, you are able to access the feature in the “Settings” tab of the Venmo app. Find more information on setting up your Venmo Direct Deposit account here.
Then visit the IRS “Get My Payment” web portal to enter your Direct Deposit account number and routing number. You can view your Direct Deposit account and routing numbers in your Venmo app under Settings. If you did not file a 2018 or 2019 tax return, you can enter your information in the Non-Filers tool.
Note: if your stimulus is already being routed to an account number supplied on your 2018 or 2019 tax return, there is no way to change the destination.
